Brazil Attractions for Everyone

If you are planning vacations, Brazil is a truly amazing place to visit.

The country has something for everyone, and the Brazilian people are warm and welcoming so you will feel right at home.

It doesn't matter if you will be traveling alone, with friends, or with a family; you will find something of interest in this large and diverse and fascinating country.

You can find Brazil attractions of all kinds; beautiful places in nature if you enjoy being outdoors, or a quiet beach if you want to relax in the sun. If you are looking for adventure, you will have plenty of opportunities to find it on vacations in Brazil.

Popular Vacations in Brazil

One of the most popular choices in vacations, Brazil Carnival attracts thousands of visitors each year. Parades, costumes, music, and dance bring a festive air to the entire country. This is especially true in Rio de Janeiro, the site of the largest Carnival in the world.

Another major attraction for a Brazil vacation is the World Cup that will be held in 2014. Other major competitions surrounding Brazil soccer bring visitors from all over the world. These include the various state championships and then the national championship.

For the nature-lover, the Amazon rainforest will hold special appeal for a vacation spot in Brazil. The most popular city to stay in if you want to visit the Amazon is Manaus. With over one and a half million residents, you will find plenty to keep you occupied when you are not trekking through the rainforest.

If you prefer laying out in the sun on your vacations, Brazil has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Copacabana is the most famous of the Brazil beaches with its parties, music, and nightlife. However, you have other popular tourist beaches to choose from, such as Ipanema and Porto de Galinhas.

Unique Destination Spots

If you want to explore a different side of Brazil than what everyone else sees, there are plenty of unknown places to visit. You can go to areas where you will only see the locals and learn what the true Brazil is like. For me, the main Brazil attractions were the people I met and the friendships we developed.

Brazil is more than beaches and parties, even though there are plenty of those, too. You will also find a rich history and variety of culture to explore in this exciting country. Visit Brasilia, the capital of Brazil and you will find many attractions to intrigue you.

The National Park of Brasilia has mineral springs and unusual flora and fauna to enjoy. You can take a hiking trip on one of the trails through the forest. This is a great place to visit for the person who enjoys nature.

Another unique attraction that many people will find interesting is the Brasilia Museum de Valores, the money museum. Here you will see money and coins from different period of history and from different countries.

If you want to spend time at the beach but away from the crowds, you have several options around Paraty. It is a historic city located about 125 miles (201 km) from Rio de Janeiro. The beaches are beautiful, but some of them are more deserted, allowing for a quiet day if you choose.

While in Paraty, you can visit the historic downtown section where no cars are allowed to preserve the old cobblestone streets. You will want to visit Casa da Cultura, which is considered the place most representative of 18th century architecture.

If you want to visit one of the lesser known rainforests in Brazil, you have a good selection. One of the most interesting is the Pantenal Biome. It is the site of the largest fresh water marshes in the world and encompasses parts of Brazil, Paraguay, and Bolivia.

The Pantenal wetlands have a wide variety of flora and fauna and contain a representation of nearly all of Brazil's creatures. When it floods, most of the land animals seek shelter in the forests nearby.

The Atlantic Rainforest, or Mata Atlantica, is the second best known rainforest in Brazil, next to the Amazon. Besides the natural beauty of the forest, you can see some historic cultural sites, such as the sambaquis mounds. You can also visit the Caicara communities, which are small groups of people who are native to the area.

How to Find Unusual Vacations in Brazil

If you are looking for something other than the traditional vacations, Brazil has a lot to offer you. The key is finding out about some of the places beyond Carnival, Rio de Janeiro, and other popular vacations.

You can always ask a travel agent for ideas other than the usual destinations. They will be able to research it for you if they don't know and make some good suggestions. If you want to do your own research, you can visit travel websites. Look past the initial places that are mentioned for more remote areas.

Do a search on the internet for blogs from people who have visited or lived in Brazil. You may find mention of places that do not make it in tourist books or sites. You can visit blogs.com or any of the blogs on travel sites to find interesting information.

Of course, the best way to find the best places to visit that are off the map is to wait until you get to Brazil and ask the locals. They will tell you the sites you have to see and these will often be the places they go to rather than tourist attractions. This idea will work for people who do not need a set schedule ahead of time, and those who are willing to go with the adventure of the day.

For the best vacations, Brazil has everything you could want. From beautiful beaches to fascinating historic sites, there is something for everyone. There are adventure tours for the nature lover; bars and clubs for those who love the nightlife; and markets and shopping centers if you love to shop.

You will find entertainment if you are traveling alone or with other adults, and you will also find plenty to see if you have children with you. Brazil is an amazing vacation for everyone!
